Wow, teachers walk out on their working conditions and pay. Gee, teachers work an average of 180 days a year and the average worker in private industry works approximately 230 days. I guess the teachers work too much.
Also complaints about pay, well in private industry if you do not like your pay or benefits in your current job you are free to seek another job with better conditions, right? In one year in my job we received no raise as the potential raise went to increased health insurance costs. OK with me. Again if I was dissatisfied I could seek another job elsewhere.
Teachers, if you do not like your conditions, try private industry, your pay there is based upon performance rather than tenure [gasp]. Walk out on the job in private industry, keep on going to the unemployment line.
