Unknown to most people, the most addictive thing isn’t your daily dose of coffee or energy drink. No, it’s something that we all allow ourselves to do if we become figuratively stuck in our lives. It’s comfortability — feeling comfortable with our routines, our health, even the people in our lives. It sounds funny to say, but frankly there is nothing scarier then being stuck in the same loop. Think about it. When was the last time we allowed ourselves to accept “just living” as an excuse to feel satisfied. The higher and thicker the wall we create, that separates ourselves from change, causes us to succumb to darkness. That will inevitably trick us into thinking that the virtue of safe comfort, will bring purpose.
How do we change this? Yes, you could tear down the blinds of your window to see the outside world. But, its light will blind you. Perspective will become even more difficult and comfort will breed acceptance. Rather than this. Why not try running. No, not away from the issue. Instead literally run. It takes us so far, it shows so much beauty in the world. Running creates focus and health. Who knows? It could bring friends.
