Letters to the Editor

Thankful Thursday: ER visitor

On Sept. 12, my son and grandson were involved in a very serious car accident at the intersection of Highway 240 and Duportail street in Richland. While they were both injured, many blessings occurred that night; both were wearing seat belts, the airbags worked as designed, there was great response from Richland police and fire, great response from Washington State Patrol and the kindness of strangers in this traumatic incident.

One young man who witnessed the accident and my grandson's terror, went to the store and purchased a coloring book and crayons and brought them to the Kadlec emergency room. Just when I question the humanity of our world a person steps forward with compassion and kindness. While no one caught his name, we would like to thank him from the bottom of our hearts. My grandson will remember this lesson of kindness for the rest of his life. God bless you.

MARILYN STRANKMAN, Richland
