I see Martin Bensky (Letters, April 23) is on another rant. What's wrong with people wanting the government to be fiscally responsible? He seems to think it's unAmerican unless we're in a deficit up to our eyeballs, supporting illegal aliens and people who don't work to support themselves. As for his comments about old white men, I'm an old white woman and I want to keep what I worked hard for all my life, including summers when I was a teenager. As for the president, he seems to forget that not only is he black, but he also is at least half white, and his father was not a citizen of the United States but from Kenya, just like his other illegal relatives here.
I find it distasteful that he seems to think that those who flaunt our rules of law should benefit from their unlawfulness by remaining here in our country and doesn't like it when they get deported as they should be. My family came here legally and so did lots of others. In fact, some of my ancestors helped found our country. One was described by Ripley's Believe It or Not as being the oldest soldier in the Revolutionary War at 104.
