Our precious open space is disappearing before our very eyes. Conserving and protecting natural areas while it's still possible is crucial to our Tri-City quality of life. I favor voting "yes" on a conservation tax measure that will cost you and me just $11 a year. That's a nearly painless way to ensure open space will still exist for us and our kids and grandkids. Otherwise, black-tailed jackrabbits, burrowing owls, herons, badgers, beaver, and other wildlife that now survive in shrinking habitat adjacent to our neighborhoods are doomed.
