Letter: Too many expect, receive Government handouts
I think Jerry Czebotar was spot on in his Nov. 11 letter. I did not see anything that was not true in his so-called "rant," as one subsequent letter writer described it.
I believe a conversation about government handouts is needed in this country. We are getting very close to the tipping point of more takers than givers. What better way to control the population than to have the government control the health care and the welfare of its people.
Eventually a lot of the "workers" are going to figure out what a lot of the takers already know -- that if you whine enough, someone will give you what you want. Not what you need but what you want.
I do not know of a war that has been fought by this country that guarantees anyone who is not willing to work to be taken care of by his fellow citizens. I have no problem offering a helping hand up. I do have a problem with hand outs, which is what a lot of people expect and receive.
