AP article questioned

The recent Associated Press article. "Few relate to Romney's faith," was an interesting read until I got to the statement, "About half of registered voters correctly say Obama is a Christian."

If you read the statement published by the Pew Research Center, you find that they never say that Obama, or anyone else, is correctly identified as a Christian. That would have been an egregious mistake for the center to do so. It is an egregious mistake for the AP to make such a claim.

The poll reflects what people say, not who is correct. Obama claims to be a Christian. The same is true with Romney. Some of the beliefs of Romney's church are controversial and cause many people to dispute his claim to Christianity. The same can certainly be said of Obama's church. If this topic is important enough to conduct polls and report nationally, it is important enough to report honestly and fairly.
