I found the editorial on July 15, regarding the misuse of hospital emergency rooms, to be very interesting. I strongly agree with editorial board's comments.
I was recently with a good friend who had fallen and was taken to the Lourdes Medical Center ER in Pasco. While we were there, I could hear what was going on in some of the other examination rooms. There was a family there at midnight with a child who had "a sore throat and a sore tongue." I could hear the doctor tell them it was a canker sore.
No wonder our health system is in such bad shape.
