You are injured in a car accident and transported to the local emergency room. You have multiple traumas and require surgery. You don't have insurance. The ER legally cannot turn you away.
So, why are people against requiring health insurance? If government and insurance companies are able to provide affordable health care -- why shouldn't we be required to have it?
If you don't want to buy insurance, then hospitals should be allowed to deny you service. Or require you to show up with cash in hand.
