In response to the June 11 letter, "Repeal same-sex marriage," which claims such unions are not human nature.
Just because the majority of the human population enters man-woman marriages doesn't make it law. Marriage was naturally designed for the purpose of companionship and love. Nowhere in any marriage vows does it say "for procreation."
Sexual intercourse was naturally designed for procreation. Some couples, whether they are homosexual or not, choose to never have children or they choose to adopt. That is their choice; it doesn't make it wrong or affect anyone else's life; so how is a same-sex marriage any different?
A true marriage is defined as two adults who are happy with their life together. Children do not need parents of both genders to grow up in a healthy and stable home; some grow up with only one parent.
People have the right to make their own life choices; those choices have no effect on anyone else or their role in society. Please keep this law in place. Everyone in America is covered by the Constitution regardless of sexual preference.
