As I drive around our agricultural areas I wonder why, with today's technology, farmers are unable to prevent their irrigation from watering a great segment of roadway. A good example is Ruppert Road, where water cannons on the end of circles continue to spray across the road.
This is wasteful of water resources and quite dangerous to vehicles, motorcycles and bicyclists. If the stuff coming out of the nozzles contains ingredients that kill weeds and insects, it cannot be good for persons or their rides. Is it greed to utilize every bit of land for crops, or just plain lack of control?
