The rare occurrence of a political candidate on my doorstep motivated my intrigue. Ease, confidence and focus emanated from his succinct and direct responses; my own passions met with genuine attentiveness. Over a year later, I sent an email requesting information. I was astonished with his responsiveness. Within an hour of sending an email, we had a meeting scheduled. At this meeting, Jay Clough impressed me with an apparent eidetic memory, recalling details of our brief introduction more than a year ago. The two hours that followed I was informed, queried and inspired.
Clough explained his ambitious outreach program. Dedicating more than 20 hours a week, he rings doorbells encouraging open and long-term communication. The thoughts, words and actions of our leaders can and should resonate with the voice of the people and who more deserving than one who is listening.
