I take this time and day to honor, thank and show support for our troops and defenders of freedom. I spent four years in the Air Force and more than 30 years working in the Department of Defense. I had civilian service in Kuwait and worked at Naval Weapons Station Concord for many years.
I was fortunate enough to have worked with many of the troops and met many dedicated American heroes. I call them heroes because they went about their business without a lot of fanfare. They are willing to put their lives on the line for our democracy and way of life. They have a great sense of family and responsibility to family and our nation. They are the arms that lift us up and the shoulders upon which we stand. God Bless America.
