In response to the May 16 letter by Joy R. Rasch. Can we please stop with the liberal terminology of "war on women," "war on seniors," "war on the poor," etc.
Democrats in general are against war and yet use this term regularly to fit their agenda.
I am a senior and a woman. I'm worried about the viability of Social Security and Medicare. I worry about my children and how they will live when they are retirement age. I worry about my grandchildren and what kind of life they will have with all of this debt we have left them.
We have many social issues in this country and we should not expect our federal government to solve them all. It is heartbreaking to hear of the abuse of children, abuse of seniors, teen gang members killing each other and, yes, the abuse of women. This list is endless.
So, if I'm not so spun up about the "wars," it's because we have bigger issues as American citizens. Maybe the Republicans aren't voting for your bill because we have no money.
So, let's start worrying about America and stop worrying about women's rights, gay rights, senior rights and animal rights. There is a chance we can actually be one country again and not the divided one brought on by this president.
