As a farmer and member of the original bond committee and advisory board that worked countless hours to get the bond passed to build the TRAC facility, which has become a cornerstone in the growth of Road 68, I cannot believe that some would now want it turned into an aquatic center.
How do they propose to explain to the voters in Franklin County that the tax dollars they spent to build a Trade, Recreation and Agricultural Center will now be turned into an aquatic center? It's a bitter enough pill to swallow that this facility is not affordable or user friendly for many in the community, as was promised.
In my opinion, if TRAC were to become an aquatic center it would only be a very short period of time before it would be as unaffordable to swim as it is to ride a horse in this facility under the current management. Be accountable for promises already made to Franklin County voters. I urge the farm and horse community to unite and let its voice be heard!
