I have worked with Benton County Fire District #1 for 28 years. I am currently the Training Captain and would like to share my thoughts on the proposed levy for emergency medical service on the August election ballot.
Benton #1 provides excellent service, and I am proud to work with all of my firefighter colleagues. However, we could provide a faster response for medical emergencies in the communities we serve. We sincerely appreciate our mutual aid partners, but it can be frustrating to wait for an ambulance when you call 911. Our community should have its own ambulances and personnel to respond to medical calls.
Fire commissioners for Benton #1 have placed a measure on the ballot to improve emergency medical service, and it’s in the hands of voters now. I just want our voters to know that this measure will help us get to you faster when it matters.
