To “Abortions are safe” by Joy Rasch, from May 8’s Herald.
Surely as a retired RN, you know when life begins.
To say that an embryo is not a human life until its brain is functioning is totally incorrect. It may not be recognized as a human in some scientific circles, but that’s as wrong as wrong is.
The human embryo directs its own development. Its programming is set as an individual cell or cell mass with a human DNA unlike anyone else. Solely unique!
It will fully develop to its mature form as a functioning rational human adult. How else would you explain what happens at conception? If it’s not a human being, how does an embryo “know” it is supposed to grow into a human?
Why not grow into a calf, dog, sheep or any other living entity other than a human?
Isn’t saying that life doesn’t begin until a functioning brain just another way to pacify any guilt associated with the actors in an abortion?
Wonder how the embryo feels about this, after all it is a human embryo.
