Chelan County Coroner rules Wenatchee death a homicide
The Chelan County Coroner ruled the manner of death of an unidentified person found May 30 behind on the porch of a South Wenatchee business as a homicide.
Earl Crowe told The Wenatchee World that the coroner's office and Wenatchee Police Department was notifying the victim's next-of-kin and said the public could expect an update on the case next week.
Crowe determined the death as a homicide after an autopsy was conducted earlier this week.
Sgt. Joe Eaton and Crowe both declined to provide details of the investigation or the victim at this time.
The victim was found after police responded to a call at about 10:14 a.m. on the 600 block of South Wenatchee Avenue.
A Line-X of Wenatchee employee who asked not to be identified Monday told The Wenatchee World that he had seen the body on the back porch of the business, which is located only a couple of feet from a train track.
The police department asked that anyone with working surveillance cameras in the area or anyone with related information to contact Det. Brian Hewitt by emailing him at bhewitt@wenatcheewa.gov or calling 509-888-4256.
