Franklin County Commissioner Brad Peck has received the endorsement of Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna.
Peck, who is chairman of the commission and seeking re-election for the District 1 position, said the support comes on the heels of endorsement from Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., last week.
A statement issued by McKenna described Peck as being instrumental in helping uncover an ongoing 22-year embezzlement scheme involving $1.8 million in county funds.
"We were indeed fortunate to have Brad at Franklin County when this was discovered," said McKenna's statement.

Peck said McKenna's support shows that people who've claimed he failed to act quick enough to end the theft of public funds aren't as well informed as the attorney general whose office led the prosecution effort on the case involving fired public works department employee Dennis Huston.
