A couple of years ago, when the University of Washington football team lost every game it played (and Washington State University didn't fare much better), I decided to put together a section of Cougar-Husky jokes for the annual Apple Cup game.
This is the time of year to dust them off because of this weekend's annual "who isn't the worst team in the state" game, which will be at Martin Stadium in Pullman this year. Actually, there's a little more to play for than pride this year because the Huskies could go to a bowl game if they win, and the Cougars could, well, keep the Huskies from that honor if they win.
Most of the jokes are recycled ethnic jokes or are stolen from college football rivalries that have more national implications, such as Texas vs. Texas A&M or Ohio State vs. Michigan.
My favorite: "Why doesn't Columbia Basin College have a football program? If it did, then UW and WSU would want one, to."
