The last of three Hanford State of the Site meeting planned this spring by Hanford watchdog groups is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at Whitman College in Walla Walla.
The meeting will include presentations from the Washington State Department of Ecology and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as well as meeting organizers Columbia Riverkeeper, Hanford Challenge, Heart of America Northwest and Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility.
The Department of Energy also has been invited to give a presentation, but passed at the previous two meetings this spring.
The public interest groups planned Hanford State of the Site meetings in Spokane, Vancouver and Walla Walla after learning that DOE did not plan government-sponsored site meetings this year.
