A public meeting to discuss the Hanford budget as the Department of Energy looks ahead to fiscal 2017 is planned April 28 in Richland.
Priorities and cleanup progress in central Hanford and along the Columbia River at the Hanford nuclear reservation will be discussed by DOE at 5:30 p.m. Priorities for the tank farms, where 56 million gallons of radioactive waste are held, and the vitrification plant being built to treat the waste will be discussed at 6 p.m.
Hanford regulators will speak at 6:30 p.m., followed by a question and answer session, and then public comment at 7 p.m.
The meeting is at the Richland Public Library Gallery Room, 955 Northgate Drive.
