Registration opens at 9 a.m. March 9 for this year’s Hanford environmental cleanup tours and tours of Hanford’s historic B Reactor.
Sign up is available only online for the tours that focus on Hanford cleanup, and they often fill quickly. Go to www.hanford.gov.
The tours include stops at four places key to cleanup of contamination left from World War II and Cold War production of plutonium for the nation’s nuclear weapons program. They also include a stop at B Reactor.
Participants must be at least 18 and U.S. citizens.

The Department of Energy also is offering tours of just B Reactor, with more time allowed inside the reactor.
