Power was restored to the Hanford vitrification plant construction site early Monday evening.
Work at the Waste Treatment Plant site will resume today after workers were told to stay home Monday.
A quick, intense storm Saturday afternoon that brought heavy rain and hail to parts of the Mid-Columbia caused the outage. Work through the rest of the weekend to restore power continued Monday.
The vitrification plant, which is being built to treat radioactive waste for disposal, uses a temporary electrical system now. But when the plant is operating, it will have a permanent system plus backup generators in case of outages.
