The Pasco Association of Educators will hold a community forum to look the school district’s past trends and priorities at 7 p.m. Aug. 11 at Faith Assembly Christian Center, 1800 N. Road 72 in Pasco.
Members will discuss the Pasco School District budget and provide a recent historic perspective of the district’s budget, revenues and spending, according to a release from the Washington Education Association.
“Teachers are concerned that Pasco’s administration has lost sight of what’s important: supporting teachers and helping students learn. PAE members and their bargaining team have clearly expressed their priorities to resolve a lack of adequate curriculum and materials, smaller class sizes and professional pay,” the release said.
The information presented will rely on the district’s financial data as reported to state Office of Public Instruction. Data will be explained by Marie Canas, a veteran WEA financial analyst.
