A family nurse practitioner and nurse scholar with experience in health care policy for children is taking over leadership of Washington State University Tri-Cities College of Nursing.
Debbie Nogueras was recently hired to lead the program and its expansion into generating more higher-level graduates, a release said.
Nogueras earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing and a doctorate from Barry University, a private Catholic university outside of Miami.
She most recently worked as an associate professor at Northern Arizona University, where she was the coordinator for the Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner programs. She also worked in the Center for Medicare Services demonstration project at NAU, which was one of five sites nationwide to have the program.
Nogueras has served on boards and developed programs aimed at improving health care policy regarding children and adolescents. She’s also focused on educating nurse practitioners in rural areas.
