Kennewick schools Superintendent Dave Bond was named Distinguished Volunteer of the Year on Tuesday by the United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties.
The announcement came during the organization’s annual LIVE UNITED event at the Three Rivers Convention Center. The Kamiakin High School drum line and cheer team provided a procession as part of the ceremony.
Bond has been a United Way board member for years and helped develop and implement its initiatives. He was described by President and CEO Beverly Weber as “an individual who not only sets a good example for our community, but is also highly regarded by colleagues and peers throughout the state.”
