Man, 53, held on $100,000 bail for alleged rape of Tri-City girl

A 53-year-old man was ordered held Monday on $100,000 bail for allegedly raping a grade-school girl for seven years.

Aristides Guevara pleaded innocent in Benton County Superior Court to two counts of first-degree child rape and one count of first-degree child molestation.

His trial is March 28.

The girl recently was at a youth group meeting when she told a leader about the abuse. The leader had the girl tell her family, then the police were called, documents show.

In an interview with law enforcement, the girl said Guevara claimed he would hurt a relative of the girl if she told anyone, documents said.
