Moses Lake attorney David G. Estudillo will take a seat as Grant County Superior Court judge this month.
Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Estudillo on Aug. 19, citing in part his community and volunteer work.
“His commendable efforts and commitment to justice make him the right choice for the bench,” Inslee said in a news release.
Estudillo, 41, has run his own Moses Lake law firm since 2005, specializing in immigration law and civil practice. He earned his law degree from the University of Washington in 1999, and previously worked with Jeffers Danielson Sonn and Aylward in Wenatchee and Scheer and Zehnder law firm in Seattle.
