The Washington State Patrol phone system was compromised Tuesday, leading to dozens of calls from someone pretending to be a trooper.
State Patrol received 30 complaints about the fake calls with the caller accusing citizens of having warrants or unpaid tickets, according to a news release from the agency.
The caller posed as a trooper during the calls. The agency said it does not call citizens to advise them of violations, warrants or to collect fines.
State Patrol warns citizens not to send money, share personal information or answer questions.
Anyone with questions or concern can call the WSP at 360-596-4000.
