Tri-City police departments plan various family friendly events Aug. 4 as part of National Night Out to give citizens a chance to meet law enforcement officers and take a stance against crime.
Similar free events will be going on across the nation.
Kennewick’s event is at the Southridge Sports & Events Complex from 5 to 7:30 p.m. City council members, city staff and police will be on hand. There will be bounce houses, kids archery, free food and drinks, document shredding, a movie and $1 rides on the Carousel of Dreams.
Richland’s event includes a city fair from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at John Dam Plaza. There will be kids activities and information on how to protect homes against break-ins. Big rig displays, food vendors, prizes, entertainment and demonstrations are planned.
Pasco’s event will be at Memorial Pool, 1520 W. Shoshone St., from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be safety booths, games and free public swimming.
