A Pasco man was convicted of having sex with a young teen girl after the two met on Facebook.
A Franklin County Superior Court jury convicted Sergio Magana Jr. of third-degree child rape.
The victim’s mother told Pasco police in October that her daughter had been raped by an older man.
The girl then told investigators that Magana called her about a week after the two met on the social media site, and she agreed to meet him at a school bus stop, said court documents.

She briefly got into his car and then returned to her apartment. He came to the door a few minutes later, knocked and walked in, locking the door behind him.
Magana, who was 24 at the time, told her, “Don’t be nervous,” and then raped her, documents said.
A sentencing date has not yet been set.
Deputy Prosecutor Maureen Lorincz plans to recommend he serve one year and two months. He also will be required to register as a sex offender.
Magana had a previous rape case dismissed in October 2013 when the victim couldn’t be found in time for his trial.
In that 2012 case, he had been accused of having sex with another young teen girl a month after they met on Facebook.
