Six men were arrested late Sunday after a short-lived joyride in a golf cart left unattended at Water Follies in Columbia Park.
The men found the golf cart unattended by Follies staff at the end of the day’s events and started driving it through the park, said a release from Kennewick police. Officers stopped the cart within a minute of it being reported stolen.
Police said Follies as a whole was a particularly safe event this year. Two people were arrested for possessing alcohol in the park outside designated areas while one person was arrested for driving under the influence. There was an arrest for trespassing and one for someone wanted on a warrant.
In total, that’s far fewer than the 23 people arrested by Kennewick police during last year’s Follies.
