A suspect has been arrested in connection with a Friday afternoon bank robbery in Benton City, officials said.
The man went into the U.S. Bank at 519 Ninth Street and asked that bank tellers hand over money, said Benton County Sheriff’s Capt. Clay Vannoy. The man did not show a weapon or say that he had one, but did get in a small struggle with one of the bank’s customers.
The robbery was reported at 1:37 p.m., Vannoy said.
Investigators later identified the man and arrested him on Seventh Street in Benton City, near his home, Vannoy said. He ran from officers, who had searched his home with a warrant, but they were able to chase him down.
