A fire that started near the Oregon border in Walla Walla County has been contained, officials said.
The Hatch Grade fire burned approximately 600 acres, starting about 100 yards from the Oregon border and moving toward Vansycle Canyon east of Burbank, according to Walla Walla County Emergency Management. At least 45 firefighters assisted with the fire, including some from Benton Fire District 1.
The fire also spread into Umatilla County, Ore.
Firefighters used a bulldozer, five water tender trucks and several grass trucks to take on the blaze, emergency management said. The cause of the fire had not been determined.

The fire came at the same time Walla Walla officials were dealing with the Blue Creek fire. The fire 10 miles east of Walla Walla had burned 6,140 acres as of Friday and was being battled by 1,000 people.
