Marijuana grow found on Umatilla reservation

Oregon authorities found a marijuana grow with around 750 plants on reservation property in Umatilla.

Authorities raided the grow, located in Bachelor Canyon on the Confederated Tribes of Umatilla Indian Reservation, and found an estimated $200,000 worth of marijuana, according to reservation officials.

Primitivo Feria Garcia, 33, and Rafael Contreras Piaz, 25, were arrested and booked into the Umatilla County jail on suspicion of multiple charges.

Authorities found hundreds of plants, a little more than five pounds of dried marijuana and a pellet rifle at the grow site, officials said.

A larger grow operation was discovered on reservation property in 2011. There were 3,294 plants found and authorities believe the grow may have been connected to a drug trafficking organization in Mexico.
