Walla Walla police have a new armored vehicle for the county’s SWAT Team.
The vehicle came from the Department of Defense and was bought by the U.S. Army for $733,000, police said. The police department paid $6,900 for the vehicle to be transported from Texas.
The vehicle is expected to be used during high-risk situations when the SWAT team is called out.
The team is comprised of 15 members from the police department, the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office and a local fire department.
