Drugs or alcohol were involved in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night that killed two women near Moses Lake, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash happened around 10:35 p.m. on Highway 17 north of Moses Lake, state patrol said. Both Peggy A. Dubey, 58, and Terri J. Vannoy, 42, died at the scene.
Dubey, of Moses Lake, was driving a minivan south when she crashed into a Saturn heading north on the highway, state patrol said. Vannoy, of Ephrata, was driving the Saturn.
Both vehicles were in the northbound lanes when the crash happened, state patrol said. No passengers were in either car.

Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash, but evidence shows drugs or alcohol may have been a factor, state patrol said.
Both women were wearing their seat belts, state patrol said. The van and car were totaled and towed from the scene.
