A Level 3 sex offender convicted of first-degree rape in King County and other sex crimes in California recently moved to Benton County.
James Lee Babcock Step-hens, 66, moved to the 4200 block of Hicks Road, according to a Benton County Sheriff's Office release. Stephens works as a long-haul truck driver and has convictions for rape and oral copulation by force in 1989.
He is not wanted by police.
A public meeting about sex offenders in the area is held at the Kennewick Police Department, 211 W. Sixth Ave., Kennewick, at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month.
