MILTON-FREEWATER --Mechanical parts missing from Hanford have been recovered at a Milton-Freewater home metal-recycling business, according to the Umatilla Sheriff's Office.
Larry Lavelle Odoms, 69, was arrested Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of felony theft by receiving and suspicion of possessing a weapon by a felon, said Sgt. Tawin Compton. Odoms also is suspected of failing to maintain metal purchase records, Compton said.
Odoms is suspected of being the middleman for about $50,000 worth of stolen property, Compton said.
The Hanford property is classified as missing as law enforcement investigates further, but items believed stolen in Union and Umatilla counties were recovered, Compton said.
Body armor and an allegedly stolen handgun also were found, but they are not linked to Hanford, Compton said.
