Bouncer stabbed at Benton City tavern

A bouncer at The Palm Tavern in Benton City was seriously hurt in a stabbing early Sunday, authorities said.

The bouncer, whose name and age weren't released, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland following the 2 a.m. incident, said Cpl. Chuck Jones of the Benton County Sheriff's Office. He reportedly was in critical condition Sunday afternoon.

There was a "disturbance" at the tavern and two men were kicked out, Jones said.

The men, who are in their 40s from Benton City, then returned to The Palm and a fight ensued, Jones said.

The bouncer was stabbed multiple times, Jones said.

The two men fled in one vehicle and were arrested a short time later at a home in Benton City, Jones said.

Jones wouldn't release the men's names. He said they face charges of first-degree assault.

Management of The Palm did not comment.
