Moses Lake man, 19, injured by passing semi

A 19-year-old Moses Lake man was hurt when he was hit by a semitruck early Tuesday on Highway 170, just west of Warden, the Washington State Patrol said.

Michael R. Ordway's 1992 GMC truck was hit at 6:50 a.m. when he attempted to make a left turn off the highway, troopers said.

A semi driven by K.C. Woodiwiss, 21, of Kennewick, was following behind Ordway and tried to pass him on the left, troopers said.

The semi hit Ordway's truck on the driver's door.

Ordway was taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for neck and head injuries. Woodiwiss was not hurt.

Troopers said Woodiwiss would be cited for improper passing.
