Former A&F worker sentenced for theft

A former employee of Abercrombie & Fitch who took money from the register and gave free merchandise to a friend will do 20 days on jail work crew.

Allison Lee Baker, 19, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of third-degree theft, a gross misdemeanor. Her sentence was for 365 days in jail with 345 days suspended.

Prosecutors amended the charge in a plea deal, saying the Pasco woman has taken steps to address the behavior through counseling.

While working at the mall store, Baker reportedly stole $220 from the cash drawer. In addition to ringing up goods for a friend without charging for everything, Baker would desensitize the security feature on merchandise and wear it out of the store, court documents said.

The total taken exceeded $1,600. She returned some of the items after she was fired.
