Kennewick police are searching for a man accused of seriously injuring another person after biting their ear at Columbia Park.

Officers responded to a call at Columbia Park near where Edison Street meets Paul Parish Drive just after noon on Monday.

When they arrived, they talked with a man with serious injuries, according to a social media post.

Kennewick police told the Tri-City Herald that a heavier set man wearing orange had bit the victim’s ear. The attack happened about halfway between the east boat launch and the golf course.

While the injuries appeared to be severe, the victim is not expected to lose his ear.

No weapons were involved in the attack.

Police began a K-9 dog search of the park but were unable to find the suspect.

Investigators are still trying to determine what led to the attack and if the two men knew each other.

Anyone with information should contact the non-emergency number dispatch at 509-628-0333.
