A housekeeper received a rude surprise as she was leaving work at Trios Southridge Hospital Saturday.
As she stepped outside at 11:34 p.m., a stranger approached holding a knife and threatened to kill her, said Kennewick police Sgt. Ken Lattin.
The woman appeared to be looking for an entrance.
The employee retreated back into the hospital and called security and police.
Security officers followed the suspect, Cristi Chambers-Dozer, 47, allegedly around the building into the lobby, which is where officers arrested her.
Officers didn't find the knife, but they did find the woman's white van, and impounded it. They plan to search it for any weapons.
She was booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of felony harassment.
