A Tri-City man desperate for drugs claimed he was taken hostage Thursday night.
The man texted his younger brother, saying two armed men were holding him until he repaid them for a $35 dope debt.
He asked his brother to bring the cash and to meet him in a yard on the 2200 block of Road 84, said Pasco police.
“He texted that he knew his drug habit disappointed the family, but he needed help,” said police.
The brother told his mom. Mom called police. Pasco officers and Franklin County sheriff’s deputies swarmed the property and detained and frisked three men in the yard.
The older brother had a used syringe with brown residue in his pocket.
He admitted he wasn’t kidnapped — just trying to get his brother to deliver him money for dope.
He was booked into the Franklin County jail on the misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia.
