UPDATE: Kennewick woman’s body found in Tieton River at White Pass

A Kennewick woman’s body was found Saturday afternoon in the Tieton River near milepost 175 of Highway 12 at White Pass.

Yakima County sheriff’s deputies responded about 2:25 p.m. to a citizen report and found the body on the river’s edge in about 4 inches of water, according to a news release.

The name of the woman, who was 42 years old, was not disclosed.

A vehicle belonging to her was found nearby at an undeveloped campsite. There was no immediate evidence of foul play. An autopsy will be conducted as part of the investigation.

She had been reported as a missing person to the Kennewick Police Department a few days ago, the news release said.
