A Richland woman and Benton City man were among those injured late Saturday in a two-car crash near Soap Lake in Grant County.
Jadelynn Sarbacher, 18, was southbound on Highway 17 near the intersection with Highway 28 around 8:30 p.m. in a Toyota Corolla, said a release from the Washington State Police. Ernest O. Farmer, 49, of Ephrata was driving westbound on Highway 28 as he approached the intersection in a Chevrolet pickup with 20-year-old Edgar A. Cabelos of Benton City as a passenger.
Sarbacher failed to yield to Farmer, who had the right of way, and Farmer’s truck struck the driver’s side of the Corolla. The crash sent Sarbacher’s vehicle into the ditch on the south side of Highway 28, while the truck came to rest in the intersection.
All three were taken to Columbia Basin Hospital in Quincy. Hospital officials declined to provide their status. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.
