Two Tri-City women were injured early Sunday morning when one of them struck a dog on Highway 240, causing a two-car crash.
Fawn R. Perry, 40, of Richland, and Norma A. Sanchez Angulo, 43, of Kennewick, were driving their own vehicles eastbound on the highway near the Richland city limits around 3:30 a.m, said a release from the Washington State Patrol. Angulo Sanchez struck the dog in the roadway and hit it with her car, causing Perry to run into her.
Both women were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. Perry was treated and released, but Sanchez Angulo’s status was unavailable. State police officials said they had no information about the dog, but that it was likely killed in the crash. Both vehicles were totaled.
Charges against Perry are pending, the state police said.
