The Bonneville Power Administration on Thursday adopted a 7.1 percent average wholesale power rate increase and a 4.4 percent average transmission rate increase for fiscal years 2016 to 2017.
The new rates will take effect Oct. 1.
Electric customers of the city of Richland and the Benton and Franklin public utility districts are among those who use BPA power.
The rate increases support investments in the federal hydropower system and expansions of BPA’s high-voltage transmission system.
